Be Your Own Pet’s Jemina Pearl talks up new single “What A B*tch”

Today, Nashville’s Be Your Own Pet dropped their first new music since the release of 2023 LP Mommy, which came after a 16-year hiatus. The single “What A B*tch” is a stand-alone track shared just as the band heads out on tour.

As well as some shows opening for fellow “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World” alumni Anamangucci, former WNXP Nashville Artist of the Month Be Your Own Pet are playing 10 headlining shows around the central states, wrapping in South Carolina on October 23. The next night, they’ll play a hometown show at Nashville’s Soft Junk on October 24.

BYOP lead singer Jemina Pearl stopped at WNXP to see Jude Mason and talk about the single, timing for a new album and touring. The music video for “What A B*tch” was made in collaboration with local artist Blair Tramel, who fronts BYOP’s Third Man Records labelmate Snooper.
