Baerd is the Nashville-based project led by songwriter, musician and producer Isaiah Beard. Baerd doesn’t take himself too seriously, describing his sound as “babbling-brook core” and “cut-your-own-bangs core.” But in all seriousness, he is making progressive folk music that the city has been lacking, taking influence from artists from Frank Ocean to Perfume Genius. The rasp in Baerd’s vocals combined with sweet acoustic melodies create a soothing experience that falls beyond the constructs of a genre.
