Taja Cheek embodies Impressionism on L’Rain’s latest project I Killed Your Dog. To the average ear, the collection of songs might sound odd, even off beat. But upon further listen, the unpolished, nonsensical oddities of looped vocals and sound effects become entrancing. Everything is intentional including the shocking album title. Cheek drags the listener into her grief and emotional turmoil, and it’s impossible to ignore.
