Jarren Blair’s 112-song “no skips” playlist

“112 piece combo. value meal: NO skips with the sauce on the side. music that made me and music that breaks me. put me on a stretcher,” is what Jarren Blair, WNXP’s Nashville Artist of the Month, sent us when we asked him to make a playlist. “Put me on a stretcher” is more than an emphatic phrase to end a gargantuan no-skip playlist—his new releases are coming out under the moniker “put me on a stretcher records ( ●´⌓`●).” He says, “That phrase started as a joke I would say if a song made me feel something deeply enough to hurt, heal, or both at the same time.” In turn, there are a lot of feelings on this playlist.

Over the 112 songs, Blair shouts out the local scene with songs by former Nashville Artists of the Month BEAN. and $avvy and brings in classics with sweet songs by Labi Siffre, Ella Fitzgerald and Doris Day. Then peppers it with heavy rappers like Kendrick Lamar and Joey Bada$$. At six and a half hours of songs, you could put this playlist on at lunch and still be vibing after dinner.

Stay tuned for more insight into Jarren Blair as we hear from him and tell his story all June as our Nashville Artist of the Month. He’ll also be performing at this year’s Backyard Sessions Curated by WNXP at Bobby Hotel, opening for Mon Rovîa on Thursday, Sept. 4. RSVP here.
