JD McPherson Brings Holiday Cheer and Socks to WNXP

Those who claim to hate holiday music are likely referencing clichés like “Jingle Bells” and “Frosty The Snowman,” but nobody has mastered the art of original Christmas music quite like JD McPherson. In 2018, the Oklahoma-raised, former Nashvillian translated his retro-rockabilly sound into a collection of unique (and funny) holiday songs that feel as timeless as “White Christmas,” but with a bit more edge. Frankly, McPherson made a great rock ‘n’ roll record that just happens to be about the most wonderful time of the year.

Get into the holiday spirit and watch JD McPherson perform “Ugly Sweater Blues,” “All The Gifts I Need,” “Bad Kid” and the title track from Socks live at WNXP’s Sonic Cathedral.
