It’s the time of the year for Superbloom when the meadows in Shelby Bottoms are typically in peak bloom from late August to early September, with classic bright yellow tickseed sunflower and occasional bright purple ironweed.
 ”If you start at the Shelby Bottoms Nature Center, that’s a really great place to start, and you take the one-mile loop that goes around to the observation deck, and that is the field where you have the most blooms,” executive director of Friends of Shelby Rebecca Ratz said.  ”It’s popping up all over the park but Labor Day is what we always say is generally peak bloom. It’s might start right at the end of August when some of the flowers are peaking out.”
Another event this week for restaurant owners and service industry workers is the Nashville Area Independent Restaurant Show happening at Fat Bottom Brewery on Tuesday. This event is hosted by the Nashville Area Restaurant Alliance, where Nashville’s independent restaurant operators can come together for connection, conversation and community.
 ”The independent restaurant operator is typically a very creative, hospitable person who loves their community,” co-founder of NARA Brandon Still said.” The side of that that’s difficult is there’s new technology, there’s AI, and then there’s the business aspect of it, which can be somewhat cutthroat. People say the restaurant industry is hard. It’s hard because you get hit from every different direction. We’re trying to create relief in any way that we possibly can from some of these things that pull people away from that natural hospitality that they have and the natural creativity to create amazing food. We want them to get back to that and run a healthy business.”
