Although she’s been a figurehead in the Nashville music community for more than a decade, it wasn’t until Tristen’s breakthrough record Sneaker Waves in 2017 that she received the acclaim she so rightfully deserved. Her latest effort Aquatic Flowers follows suit, masterfully blending elements of folk, lighthearted pop and indie rock. Don’t let the laidback melodies fool you, the album explores the darker realities of human behavior like narcissism and sexism. Even with a darker subject matter, Tristen effortlessly breezes through these motifs with a gentle and universally approachable sound.
