Sixteen years and seven albums into their career, Widowspeak continue to color their dreamy, slow-burning indie rock with new hues. The New York duo of Molly Hamilton and Robert Earl Thomas released Roses in June, with Hamilton’s languid vocals nestled inside Thomas’ warm, jangling guitars. Across its 10 tracks, the album expertly balances romance with realism, finding intimacy in the routines and repetition of daily life.
