Thematic Static: 2025 Kilby Block Party Preview

The literal block party that started in Salt Lake City on a street outside of live music club Kilby Court, a one-day hang in celebration of the music scene and Kilby Court as an all-ages venue, has expanded and beefed up into one of the best indie music festivals in the U.S. Now in its sixth year, Kilby Block Party 2025 is a four-day blitz of up-and-coming bands and artists — so many WNXP favorites — as well as household names with deep catalogs and impressive legacies. (Hello, DEVO, Weezer, New Order, Yo La Tengo, Built to Spill!)

Can’t make it to Mountain Time for a good time nestled in the valley with snowcapped mountains backdropping your concert vids? Well, here’s the schedule. Save your mid-May 2026 for this trip! Meantime, you might live vicariously through this Kilby Block Party mixtape and follow along for stories on my Instagram, @celia_wnxp.

Interviews captured in Utah coming soon to the WNXP Podcast feed!
