This week, 91.ONE is joining 25 independent radio stations across the country for a #SpoonPublicRadioTakeover, in celebration of their tenth studio album Lucifer on the Sofa, WNXP’s #RecordoftheWeek.
Spoon frontman Britt Daniel says it’s gratifying to hear his music on public radio stations because he’s noticed “’the most hardcore music fans out there are listening to public radio or work in public radio.”
All day February 16, 2022, WNXP is airing album cuts with special messages from the band and song commentary from Daniel along with live tracks exclusive to public radio. Hear our full interview with Daniel live on-air at and check out a preview below. Revisit our Lucifer on the Sofa album review here.
Watch Spoon perform “The Hardest Cut” and “Black Like Me” (from 2007’sGa Ga Ga Ga Ga) live from The Bunker Studio in Brooklyn, recorded exclusively for WNXP.
