While his latest record Plunge showcases this craftsmanship and sensibility, it also pushes Evian’s sound to new heights. Fans have grown accustomed to his falsetto and whispering, dreamy vocals, but Plunge highlights a fuller vocal range layered with louder-than-usual guitars and percussion. Still, this sonic shift stays within Evian’s lane — perfectly agreeable indie pop.
