In sixth grade Brian Brown started his music career by freestyling with his friends in East Nashville. Just last week he was freestyling on the air on This is Nashville. His new album, BBGonProfit starts with some off-the-cuff thoughts on what it means to have been in and around this city his whole life. For much of the album he documents what the changing city means for him and Nashvillians. Musically, it’s a little less direct. It’s hard to get into the studio and feel the atmosphere that created a work of art, but in this playlist Brian Brown takes us as close as he can to the creative process, giving us the fifteen songs that were in the air the entire time he was in the studio with producer Carmine Prophets.
