My Morning Jacket Previews New Self-Titled Album at Historic RCA Studio A

Even after a brief formal hiatus, My Morning Jacket hasn’t skipped a beat. According to lead vocalist Jim James, the band didn’t know if they would make another record again. In this sense, their self-titled ninth studio album feels like a homecoming of sorts. Featuring dueling guitars, soaring drums and James’ signature vocals and thoughtful lyrics, ‘My Morning Jacket’ delivers a live MMJ experience in a perfectly packaged studio record.

WNXP Nashville hosted the Kentucky-bred band at the historic RCA Studio A to celebrate the album release. Watch My Morning Jacket perform “Regularly Scheduled Programming,” “Love Love Love,” and “Lucky To Be Alive” from the new record plus an enchanting rendition of “Feel You” from ‘Waterfall II.’

Watch WNXP’s Celia Gregory speak with James and guitarist Carl Broemel about the band’s triumphant return.
