I’m surveying a wide range of events for another edition of What Where When-sday. You might join the Nashville AIDS Walk on Saturday morning through the afternoon. Sunday morning, support Nashville local Black-owned businesses at Shop Black Fest at Hadley Park. Nashville SC’s final home game of the regular season is Sunday night.
Also you might catch some great live music this week from Porridge Radio tonight at The Basement East, to Fontaines D.C. at Brooklyn Bowl and the The Mango Furs at The Basement on Saturday night. Elton John’s final stop in Nashville is on Sunday night for his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
From September 29th through October 5th the 53rd annual Nashville Film Festival takes place at various locations from the Franklin, Belcourt, and Johnson theaters to the Virgin Hotel presenting some of the best in independent films, narratives, short form programs and documentaries. The latest issue of the Nashville Scene discusses the 17 films you should check out and Editor D. Patrick Rodgers joined me to discuss those and music documentaries on Tanya Tucker, John Prine and Louis Armstrong.
Listen above to this week’s breakdown of other local happenings plus Patrick talking Nashville Film Fest above. For more events, check out our Events page wnxp.org/events and below!
