What Where When-sday: Margo Price Presents Get Out the Vote

On Monday, October 19 Nashville singer-songwriter Margo Price Presents: Get Out the Vote at City Winery. This show is hosted by Civic TN and features performances from Mon Rovia, S.G. Goodman, Nathan Evans Fox, Rodney Crowell, and Denitia. Price talked with This is Nashville’s Blake Farmer about using her platform to encourage Tennesseans to get out there and vote regardless of what side they are on politically.

”In Tennessee, we have one of the lowest voter turnouts in the country, and if people just get out and exercise their right to vote, then maybe we won’t lose it in the future,” she said. “I have people that I speak with that I know are on the other side of the political party. I have family members, I have friends, and I think that’s what we need to continue to do is have conversations, not be scared and not think, ‘Oh, you think differently than me, I’m not gonna speak to you.’ That’s where America is really going wrong. We all used to know our neighbor.”

She continues:  ”I think Willie Nelson’s a really good example of that. He leans to the left, but he’s brought together people with all sorts of differences. We’re all different, but that’s what makes America beautiful, and there’s really nothing to be scared of by voicing an opinion or saying, ‘Hey, AI is coming into this area. Let’s have some regulations around it.’ There’s so many things right now that are just hitting us all at once, and it’s designed to make us feel overwhelmed, but if you just do one small thing each day, it’s going to help move the needle in the right direction.”
