Artville started back in 2023 with the mission to celebrate and amplify Nashville’s vibrant artistic community. The free annual visual arts fest has featured public art installations, contemporary art, murals and more highlighting the creative culture of Nashville. Artville will be taking place this Thursday night (Sep 24) at Wasioto Park with an after dark event and Friday (Sep 25) through Sunday (Sep 27) at Walk of Fame Park in Downtown Nashville along with the American Artisan Festival.
“The idea is bringing community together to have what I would say is an outdoor museum kind of a feeling,”co-founder of Artville Samantha Saturn said. ” We love all of the cultural institutions that exist here in Nashville, but the idea of being able to come downtown to Walk of Fame Park and just walk into a place that has artists exhibiting their creative works that are intended truly to be interactive with the community.”
She continues “To me, that’s what makes Artville really special, in addition to all the shopping that you can do, you can just walk into a park and experience these sculptures in the nature and the city that we’re experiencing, but you get to climb inside and have a new perspective in terms of those types of artwork. We’re really excited to showcase four different public art experiences at Walk of Fame Park, and we also have four different artists who will be exhibiting outdoor nighttime illumination experiences at Wasioto Park on the Thursday night of our weekend.”
Tonight (Sep 23) WNXP Trivia is at Vinyl Tap and starting tomorrow the Nashville Film Fest takes place across multiple venues through September 30th. On Friday night WNXP Summer Line Series with Nashville Artist Ovven and Ratboys takes place at Ascension Saint Thomas Landing at Nashville Yards and on Saturday (Sep 26) WNXP Presents Son Little at The Blue Room. Also on Saturday The New Pornographers perform Cannery Hall’s Mainstage and on Sunday Beach House takes the stage at Brooklyn Bowl. Also on Sunday and Monday (Sep 28) are two nights with Kacey Musgraves at Bridgestone Arena and also on Monday and Tuesday (Sep 29) Geese is headlining the Ryman.
