What Where When-sday: Neighbor Fest by East Nashville Care Market

East Nashville Care Market‘s mission is to create a community where neighbors help neighbors meet their practical needs providing food, clothing, children’s resources, and other essential to more than 1,000 neighbors a month. They will host Neighbor Fest at American Legion on Saturday. The family friendly event, with free access to kids ages 12 and under, brings together local musicians, chefs, restaurants and exclusive food collaborations.

”When we think about what we want to do for our community, it’s to create a place where neighbors are cared for and have choice and dignity,”  vice president of the board of directors Amanda Tankersley said. “Those are two of the first things that people can lose when they face financial hardship, is the ability to make choices about what they want to wear, what they want to eat, how they can play with their kids, and also the dignity of feeling like they are just like everybody else. All of us say very consistently that many of us that serve here are one or two paychecks away from being on the other side of being served. We want to make sure that there’s a great equalizer for choice and for dignity for those neighbors because they deserve to feel those things every day.”

Additional events this week starting tonight (June 10) include The Last Dinner Party at The Pinnacle and tomorrow (June 11) Bonnaroo kicks off on the farm in Manchester. Friday night (June 12) Parker Millsap is at The Blue Room and at the same venue on Saturday (June 13) Greg Mendez takes the stage. On Sunday (June 14) 615 Day & Week kicks off and The Animeros perform at the OG Basement. Back at that venue Monday (June 15) is Imaginary Baseball League.
