Starting tonight, Albuquerque, New Mexico band The Shins celebrate their breakthrough album’s 21st birthday with the Oh, Inverted World national tour stopping through Nashville at Ryman Auditorium. (We got the chance to catch up with singer-songwriter James Mercer earlier this summer as he prepared to hit the road, and was simultaneously releasing new tunes with his Broken Bells duo, a collaboration with producer Danger Mouse.)
But for this edition of What Where When-sday, Marquis had the chance to catch up with Eric Holt of Lovenoise who partnered up with Cheekwood for the Black Arts Bash this Saturday. This event is a celebration of Black artists from music, art, food, storytelling, spoken word and dance, featuring performances from Lauren McClinton, Bryant Taylorr and jazz legend Rod McGaha.
