What Where When-sday: Sound Makers at NMAAM

In honor of Black Music Month, this week for What Where When-sday, we discuss Sound Makers happening throughout June at the National Museum of African American Music with Dion Brown and Noelle Taylor.

“If you live in Nashville, if you can hear this show, there is no reason in the world you shouldn’t take advantage of every last one of these opportunities that we just present here at the museum,” says Brown, president and CEO of NMAAM. “This is celebrating each and every one of us. Let’s show up and show out, and show that there’s more to Broadway than just the honky-tonks.

Speaking of honky-tonks, CMA Fest is kicking off on Thursday, so prepare your travel accordingly. On Friday, Bon Jovi’s Forever record release celebration and album signing is at Grimey’s. Also on Friday, Shannon and the Clams perform songs from their new album The Moon is In the Wrong Place at The Basement East. On Saturday at The Blue Room, there’s Stories on Love: Boysober Research, and Robyn Hitchcock is at Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery. We wrap up the week with an Evening with Terrace Martin at City Winery.
