This week, What Where When-sday welcomes Seth Feman, Executive Director and CEO of Frist Art Museum. The museum will host Frist Arts Fest June 3 and 4, a weekend-long celebration showcasing guitars in art and photography and highlighting exhibitions Storied Strings: The Guitar in American Art, Guitar Town: Picturing Performance Today, Ron Jude: 12 Hz and Beatrix Potter: Drawn to Nature. On Saturday, guests can enjoy live guitar-centric musical performances curated by WNXP from Nat Meyers, Megan McCormick and Josh Halper. Feman joined Marquis Munson to discuss the event and what attendees can expect this weekend.
“It’s an exciting time where we can celebrate the exhibitions that we have and have a variety of things for audiences of all ages, which is something we always want to do here,” Feman says. “We knew from our previous events that they get super crowded and shoulder to shoulder. We wanted to space things out, just make it more accommodating for people and also to be able to get into the content of the exhibitions a little bit more. We had these amazing exhibitions that we knew would be totally appropriate to align with this festival because they have to do with the guitar in American art. What could be more of an appropriate theme for a Nashville art museum than the guitar in American art?”
