Spring weather in Tennessee is just about as glorious, and as fleeting, as it gets. So the folks at craft brewery East Nashville Beer Works are maximizing the season with another installment of their pop-up beer garden series at Shelby Park called Fridays By The River, which begins this week on April 7. Benefitting park beautification and upkeep nonprofit Friends of Shelby Park & Bottoms with 20% of beer sales, this family-friendly gathering runs six consecutive Fridays from 3-8pm near the Riverview Pavilion in the park. In addition to cold pints, the outdoor hangs will feature different food trucks each week and also live music.
East Nashville Beer Works Sales Manager Jonathan Myers told me about Fridays By The River on my recent sunny day visit to the brewery on Trinity Lane.
Also this week in Middle Tennessee, you might catch the rescheduled Weyes Blood show at Brooklyn Bowl (April 5), the YK Records showcase at The 5 Spot (April 6, and which Michael Eades discussed on last week’s New Music Experience) and/or former Nashville Artist of the Month Twen at The Basement East (April 7). There is also a southern hockey showdown when our Nashville Predators host the Carolina Hurricanes at home (April 6). Check out many more WNXP recommended events here and anytime at wnxp.org/events.
