From R&B feels at the Brooklyn Bowl to a trio of talented singer/songwriters at the Ryman, there is no shortage of live music on this edition of What Where Wednesday.
On Saturday you can check out the 22nd annual Jefferson Street Jazz and Blues Festival taking place at the historic Fisk University. Performers include local group Higher Ground, saxophonist Mike Phillips, R&B group The Manhattans and legendary blues musician Bobby Rush. Ron Wynn of the Nashville Scene joined us to discuss how the festival came together, the performers hitting the stage, and how he would describe Jefferson Street’s impact on the Nashville music scene.
