Thematic Static: Songs referenced in your journals

Madi Diaz’s song “Everything Almost” (from our former Record of the Week Weird Faith) includes this in the first verse:

On the ninth of May I wrote it down
I found the journal when I was moving into your house
“Big love, big love”
Those were the words, it was gonna be big love

“Everything Almost”

This made me think about all of the songs we might cite in our journals, diaries, blogs or AOL Instant Messenger (AIM!) away messages. Lyrics that inspire us to go deeper inward, or simply to mark how we were feeling that day — to say what we cannot put words to, ourselves. Thank you, sincerely, for playing ball with this wacko theme! Your requests were wide-ranging and your introductions to songs absolutely awe-inspiring. This is a show better heard in full than simply viewed in playlist form, but we have that, too, below.

As usual, for future Thematic Static requests, you can add your ideas on the socials @WNXPNashville and/or by calling 615-320-9100 or visiting wnxp.org/feedback to leave us a voice memo describing your pick. Thematic Static is supported by United Record Pressing.
