Program Director

If you moved here in the last 5 years – From WPLN where he was morning then afternoon host and reporter whose stories about everything from Asian Carp to Titans punters to RCA Studio B aired nationally on programs like All Things Considered and Here and Now.

But I’m a little more old school Nashville like 2006-2016 – Probably Next BIG Nashville, the multi-day music fest and SXSW-style conference that ran for several years and helped give an early spotlight to artists like Alabama Shakes and Cage the Elephant. He also co-founded Do615, was a curator for Red Bull Sound Select and worked at Thirty Tigers.

Naw, I’m really old school like 2000 – Jason spent the early part of the decade in artist management, most notably with the band Venus Hum, and was a music and entertainment reporter for The Tennessean’s weekly lifestyle magazine All the Rage as well as a contributor to other outlets like American Songwriter and the NME.

Listen, I’ve been here a WHILE – Jason moved to Nashville in 1993 and was part of the indie scene at Lucy’s Record Shop with the band toybean before going on to play bass with Josh Rouse, Neilson Hubbard and Garrison Starr. He was also on the air at WRLT and was Music Director at their short lived sister station Thunder 94.

But I’m in the Country and/or Christian music industry – You may have crossed paths on a board or advisory group like the Mayor’s Music Council, Leadership Music, Nashville Music Awards, Nashville Film Fest, Tin Pan South or wayyy back to Summer Lights.
