Carly Butler is a photographer, graphic designer and self-proclaimed Internet person. Born and raised in Indiana on classic rock, country music and The Beach Boys, music has always been a central part of her identity. She grew up reading liner notes, making mix CDs and staying up too late posting about her favorite bands online, and that early introduction to finding community through music taught her how special it is to be a fan — and eventually set her on the path to moving to Nashville in 2018 and diving headfirst into the city’s music scene. Her music industry experience runs the gamut: digital marketing, photography, social media, video editing, graphic design, creative direction, and even a brief stint as a receptionist. Now, as WNXP’s Digital Content Coordinator, she oversees the station’s online presence, photographs WNXP events and live sessions and spends a lot of time thinking about Instagram captions. On any given night, you can find her at a local venue with her camera in hand or driving down Gallatin with her ‘90s country playlist at full volume.
