This week we spend a fair amount of time in the UK from big releases (Arctic Monkeys) to Nashville connections (Robyn Hitchcock) to exploring the winner, nominees and impact of this week’s Mercury Prize (thanks to the insight of Nash-based Brit, DJ Dan Digs). We also listen in on a live session from Amyl and the Sniffers, hear insight on our Record of the Week from Nashville artist Ariel Bui and send a pop star shout out to DJ Marquis Munson on his wedding weekend.
We start with our Song of the Week. Indie crew Frankie Cosmos celebrate the release of their album Inner World Peace this week featuring five minute standout track “Empty Head.” It begins with a meditative desire so many of us are trying desperately achieve and moves on to the reality so many of us face.
