WNXP’s March Nashville Artist of the Month Annie DiRusso released her debut full-length, Super Pedestrian, on March 7, the same day we got to have her co-host this New Music Experience show and share some of the inspiration behind her newest batch of songs. Spoiler: DiRusso drew from her past, and channeled some righteous fury about it, but was mostly very present in the wake of her many months touring. And so it was “Party July” 2023 and subsequent weeks jamming with friends that yielded the most prolific and real-time reflections the artist shares through song on Super Pedestrian.

DiRusso also told us about some artists, local and otherwise, that she’s loving right now. In addition to clips from our chat, we highlight new releases from Vundabar and Swervedriver, a live cut from LA LOM’s session in our Sonic Cathedral plus a first single from the forthcoming Tune-Yards LP, Better Dreaming.
