Enumclaw instantly became a band-to-watch in Seattle’s guitar-driven music scene, but with the release of their debut LP Save the Baby, the Tacoma-bred four-piece are quickly growing into one of the most exciting indie acts in the U.S. Citing influences from Turnstile to The Smashing Pumpkins and even Kacey Musgraves and the video game “Rock Band,” the band might be honoring the Seattle grunge greats before them, but they’re hardly rebirthing the signature grunge sound. Frontman Aramis Johnson’s sweet vocals lend the fuzzed out sound a more poppy sensation, creating something completely unique from the traditional sound of the Pacific Northwest.
Watch Enumclaw perform “Save the Baby,” “Blue Iris” and “Park Lodge” live at WNXP’s Sonic Cathedral.
