Emily Hines Live at WNXP

Emily Hines calls herself a “chronically sincere farm girl,” and it’s not hard to hear why. Growing up on a farm in Ohio, the Nashville-based songwriter learned early on that tending the land and writing songs could be part of the same practice of care and observation. That foundation is clearly woven through the gentle folk rock of her debut record These Days. Recorded on a four-track cassette with inspiration from artists like Karen Dalton and Joni Mitchell, the album embraces analog imperfection, carrying the warmth of lived experience in its raw, intimate sound.

Watch Emily Hines perform “My Own Way,” “UFO” and “Cowgirl Suit” live at WNXP’s Sonic Cathedral.
