What Where When-sday: Live From $ville with Chuck Indigo

This week for What Where When-sday, we discuss Chuck Indigo: Live From $ville with Carlos Partee, owner of Cashville Etc. There’s a ton of nicknames to describe Nashville — Music City, more recently the It City — but Cashville as a moniker has embraced the city’s Black community. Partee has taken the name and turned it into a clothing and community brand highlighting black creatives through fashion and music. I sat down with Partee at Cashville’s storefront in the 100 Taylor’s Arts Collective to discuss what the word “cashville” means to him and the music showcase happening on Thursday.

WNXP Presents Katy Kirby at the Blue Room tonight. Her latest record Blue Raspberry was our WNXP Record of the Week, and you can check out an interview with Kirby here. There’s another WNXP Presents show at the Blue Room this Saturday with Squirrel Flower. You can check out a live session with Squirrel Flower (stage name of singer-songwriter Ella Williams) inside our Sonic Cathedral here.

Plus, the Nashville Symphony at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center is hosting three nights with legendary soul singer Patti Labelle. The Nashville Symphony also brings back “Music in My Neighborhood,” a weeklong musical takeover in North Nashville and Bordeaux highlighting the neighborhood’s history and culture through free performances, educational programs and more. NashFeels returns to Brooklyn Bowl on Saturday, and then there’s Super Bowl Sunday with the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers at your favorite local bar or couch. Stay up to date on upcoming events at WNXP.org/events.
