What Where When-sday: The Sound of (Black) Music

This week for What Where When-sday, we discuss “The Sound of (Black) Music” with our special guests: co-director Shariffa Ali and producer Jono Gasparro. The musical is an Afrofuturist reimagining of the cult classic “The Sound of Music” through the lens of Black roots music. The production, which uses elements of jazz, gospel, blues, soul, funk and Afrobeat, comes to the Tennessee Performing Arts Center this week.
