“Aaron Monty,” “Monty,” “A-A-ron,” or “@amontylovesyou” – all are names he answers to. Raised in Texas, he later found himself in Los Angeles before making Nashville home in 2015. He can often be spotted walking around North Nashville with his dogs, Shocka and Cassandro. Since 2004, Aaron has curated playlists for friends, companies, and nonprofit organizations, helping to shape their sonic identities. He has even DJed in unique settings ranging from inside a real ice igloo to the blazing desert heat of Coachella. For Aaron, music is at the core of his being—particularly electronic music. From the age of 14, he has attended local electronic music events and supported other DJs wherever he goes. When it comes to his own DJ sets, Aaron embraces a little bit of everything, from trailblazing electronic artists like Adonis and Alexander Robotnick to pop royalty like Beyoncé and Kylie Minogue—and he is thrilled to share the pleasure of listening to music, both new and old, with the WNXP community every weekend.
