This week for What Where When-sday, we talk about an event that kicks off next Wednesday through Aug. 7. Queer Qlassics — that’s “classics” with a “q” — returns to the Belcourt, Nashville’s nonprofit film center. Films will include “The Color Purple” (July 10), “Saint Laurent” (July 17), “The Last of Sheila” (July 24), “Hard Candy” (July 31), and “Hairspray” (Aug. 7). Our special guest is Belcourt historian and archivist T. Minton.
After enjoying your Fourth of July festivities tomorrow, additional event opportunities include a Beyoncé Dance Party at Brooklyn Bowl on Friday, then Saturday Regeneration with Nashville rapper Mike Floss and his dad trumpeter, Rod McGaha, at the Blue Room. Check out our conversation with the father-son duo about the show here.
Back to Brooklyn Bowl on Sunday, there’s WNXP Presents Hiatus Kaiyote performing songs from their new record Love Heart Cheat Code. And on Monday, Pedro the Lion and Flock of Dimes is at the Basement East.
