This week is the start of March Madness and St. Patrick’s Day weekend so there are plenty of spots to check out around town. Tomorrow WNXP hosts music trivia night at The Blue Room. Our special guest for What Where When-sday this week is Allison Russell. The Nashville based singer/songwriter will be one of the artists on stage for Love Rising this Monday night at Bridgestone Arena. In the wake of Gov. Bill Lee signing a bill banning drag shows in public spaces, this show will serve as a benefit concert for LGBTQ organizations. Headliners include Brittany Howard, Jason Isbell, Hayley Williams of Paramore, Maren Morris and Joy Oladokun, with many others performing one-time only collaborations similar to an awards show with a backing band. Russell, via Zoom in New York cafe, spoke with Jason Moon Wilkins about why it was so important to put this concert together now.
